Although all investments are speculative to some degree, I believe that libertarians can use a background in Austrian economics as an advantage when investing. It is impossible to time the market, but with a good foundation in free market economics, you should be able to do better than the average investor. Unfortunately, politics plays a big role in our investments. It shouldn't be this way, but that is the world in which we live. So we must understand politics and economics (particularly monetary policy) to give us a better chance at being successful investors.
